Sectional systems put a join every few metres. Each join is sealed, and every seal ages. Seamless runs carry a join only at corners and outlets, which cuts the number of points that can leak.
Cost over time
A sectional system is cheaper on day one. Over ten years the difference narrows once resealing, repainting and water damage repairs are counted.
What we recommend
For long straight roof runs, seamless is the better buy. For small outbuildings with short runs, a sectional system is often enough.
